Worship
God through His Word gives birth to His people, calling them together to receive His most precious gift, the forgiveness of sins. We respond by receiving His gift and then by thanking and praising Him, even as we acknowledge who we are as sinners before Him. Worship is His serving us with forgiveness and our responding with our thanksgiving and praise. God serves us with His gift in the context of the historic Christian liturgy, with music enlarging and elevating our adoration, especially as we receive the most concrete form of God’s Word, the Word made flesh, in Holy Communion.
