Officer Duties
BOARD OF YOUTH
The mission of St. Paul Lutheran Church is to spread and model the
good news of Jesus Christ with our members, the community and the world.
The Board of Youth shall be composed of nine members elected by the voting membership of the congregation. Three members shall be elected each year for a three-year term. This board shall elect a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and a Secretary from its membership.
Prior to each meeting of the Board, the Chairman will gather items for a printed agenda and provide a copy of the agenda to each Board member, Congregation Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Senior Pastor.
The Chairman of this Board shall represent the Board at meetings of the Church Council. A written report of actions approved at the Board meeting shall be distributed at each Council meeting.
In order to meet these basic objectives, the Board, either corporately or through specifically designated individuals, and in conjunction with the Minister of Discipleship and Youth, shall:
1. Be responsible for establishing objectives, setting policies for, and supervising a programs designed to nurture and encourage spiritual growth, worship participation and service projects for the middle and high school youth of the congregation.
2. Be responsible for assimilating newly confirmed youth into appropriate groups for study and activity.
3. Recruit counsellors and lay leaders, as needed, for the youth program.
4. Coordinate with the Board of Christian Life Education and Minister of Discipleship and Youth in efforts to identify and appoint Bible Class teachers for the middle and high school youth of the congregation.
5. Be responsible for preparing and submitting an annual budget request in the form and at the time requested by the Board of Stewardship.
