Music
Overview
Our school  provides a rich music opportunity of study and performance for all students. Music education is a part of our curriculum and all grades participate in a choral program. Recorders are taught in grades 4 and 5 and band instruction begins in grade 6 and continues in grades 7 and 8. Each of these disciplines is taught by a music specialist.

In addition to the music education classes, students participate in the worship services of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and perform each year in a School Christmas Service and a spring musical. The 5-8 Grade Choir also performs in a Three Choir Festival with choirs from the Dallas area, participates in Chorister's Guild events, and sings for the community at Christmas time.

The Band program at St. Paul begins in grade 6 with small group lessons and group band, which rehearses, performs, and joins with the 7-8 Grade Band in the spring. The 7-8 Grade Band presents at least three concerts each year. Instrumentalists are also encouraged to audition for the ATSSB Regional Band Festival in the fall. Individuals perform solos and in small ensembles. Additional performance opportunities are always encouraged.

Young children at St. Paul Lutheran School learn a love of music from the beginning and many of our graduates continue their music studies into high school and continue to enjoy music as a lifetime hobby or vocation.
