Having served at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, Austin, TX since February 2004, the Rev. Dr. Mark S. Nuckols has enjoyed the blessings of the parish/school setting for most of his service in the Office of Public Ministry. Preceding his exodus to the great state of Texas, he spent his early years in the parish ministry serving two different congregations in and around the Kansas City, Missouri area (Faith, Richmond, MO and Holy Cross, Kansas City, MO). Sandwiched between these two parishes Pastor Nuckols was called by the Board for Missions Services as an active duty Army Chaplain with the 101st Airborne Division. Presently, he is an Army Reserve Chaplain, having served two 12-month combat tours of duty in Iraq (2004-2005 and 2007-2008). He is an ’89 (MDiv) and ’04 (DMin) alumnus of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, as well as a ’85 (BA) alumnus of St. John’s College and Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Pastor Nuckols has been married to Carla nee Pullmann since 1983, and they have two adult children.
